THE BEAST OF WATCHUNG MOUNTAIN I once knew a 'duck' of the nearer EAST Who decided to battle the mighty BEAST ~ The beast of WATCHUNG MOUNTAIN. Her beak being sharp while her feathers LIGHT She flapped both her wings, taking yonder FLIGHT ~ Toward the beast of WATCHUNG MOUNTAIN. The beast was dozing ~ in a peaceful DAZE As the 'duck' darted through the endless MAZE ~ The maze of WATCHUNG MOUNTAIN. Her beak found its mark in the midst of its HEAD And it let-out-a-shreak! then the beast lay DEAD ~ DEAD on WATCHUNG MOUNTAIN. Then the 'duck' did return to the nearer EAST Having dispatched with the 'mighty' yet pitiful BEAST ~ THE BEAST OF WATCHUNG MOUNTAIN. If you do hear a "shriek" on that mount some DAY Know its the ghost of that "QUIET-FRAY!" The ghost of a beast who had passed AWAY! Now the 'duck' rests in peace & can even sleep Since she settled "old scores" of her flock "served as MEAT" To the once-mighty BEAST... THE BEAST OF WATCHUNG MOUNTAIN!!! byron lebeau |
